Occupational Health & Safety Policy

The occupational health and safety of all persons employed within Professional Advantage and those visiting PA is considered to be of the utmost importance. The company is firmly committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors.


Resources balanced with the priority PA places on occupational health and safety will be made available to comply with all relevant Acts and Regulations and to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees.

 


 

Management will be responsible for:

  • Integrating occupational health and safety into all aspects of the workplace;
  • Promoting communication about occupational health and safety as a normal component of the company’s operations and all aspects of work;
  • Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring a workplace health and safety programme;
  • Taking effective action to provide and maintain a healthy and safe workplace.

Employees are responsible for:

  • Cooperating with the OHS Policy and Programs to ensure their own health and safety and the health and safety of others in the workplace;
  • Working in a healthy and safe manner;
  • Encouraging others to work in a healthy and safe manner;
  • Discouraging others from working in an unsafe manner;
  • Reporting or rectifying any unsafe conditions that come to your attention.

Contractors and Sub-Contractors
All Contractors and Sub-Contractors engaged to perform work on the Organisation’s premises or locations are required, as a part of their contract, to comply with the occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs of the organisation and to observe a direction will be considered a breach of the contract and sufficient grounds for termination of the contract.


Occupational Health and Safety Programme
In order to implement the general provisions of this policy, a programme of activities and procedures will be set up, continually updated and effectively carried out. The programme will relate to all aspects of occupational health and safety including:

  • OHS training, education and orientation seminars;
  • Work design, workplace design and standard work methods; ;
  • Changes to work methods and practice; including those associated with the technological change
  • Emergency procedures and drills;
  • Provision of OHS equipment, services and facilities;
  • Workplace inspections and evaluations;
  • Reporting and recording of incidents, accidents, injuries, illnesses and;
  • Provision of information to employees, contractors and sub-contractors.
