Receipting Fact Sheet
Overview
In summary - the user enters a receipt, allocates the receipt to a selection of invoices, updates the ledgers and produces a deposit slip. Receipting can cater for much more though. Examples include processing very large volume of cheques for superannuation funds, front desk receipting for local councils to processing bank direct debit files. Accuracy is improved with the use of cheque scanners. Receipting processes cheques, cash and credit cards.
What customers find useful in Receipting
The Receipting features customers find useful include:
- Receipting has a ‘learn facility’. A cheque will ‘learn’ the linkage to a debtor account, so on the next cheque receipt the debtors account will be automatically opened and presented.
- Link to EFTPOS system for credit card receipts.
- Master accounts permit one receipt to be allocated across multiple debtor accounts.
- Receipting can allocate to transactions not yet processed in SunSystems. For example receipting at a local council will look up the rates and taxes database to determine what is being paid. Receipting will then allocate that transaction plus process the source transaction into SunSystems.
